Finland has a highly industrialized mixed economy with a per capita output equal to that of other european economies such as France, Germany, Belgium and the UK. Trade is important with exports accounting for over one third of GDP in recent years.

Finland is strongly competitive in manufacturing – principally the wood, metal, engineering, telecommunications and electronic industry. Finland excels in high-tech exports such as mobile phone and is home to Nokia.

As a result international companies are increasingly looking at Finland as a place to pitch their services.
