Study 1 - The Client:
A Canadian company was engaged in an engineering contract in Helsinki and needed a project team on the ground for 3 months. This required local payroll, work visas and compliance. To setup a Finnish entity was expensive and this was the only work they had within Finland - so the costs weren't justifiable. www.contractortaxation.com introduced them to a few options with our local partners. They were able to select a structure which included sponsorship of work permits, localised payroll and full compliance for all 6 of their team on the ground. The project has been a great success and has continued beyond the intiial 3 months - our partner has been able to extend the immigration conditions for all the consultants.
Study 2 – Contractor: Elizabeth, an Embedded Systems Testing Specialist from South Africa, was offered a contract in Finland which came through a European based recruiter. She spoke to the end client, a major telecommuncations provider, and all went well. However the recruiter was unable to organise a work permit for her.
Elizabeth put the recruiter in touch with www.contractortaxation.com and we helped build a quote / timeframe to organise a work permit and in-country payment for her. This was executed through one of our partners in Finland and we have subsequently helped a few of Elizabeth's South African contractor friends with work in Europe.
