The Client is a global Oil & Gas Recruitment Company.
The Client was providing contractors to a project in the UAE with a major American Oil & Gas Company. The client had setup a local entity in Dubai and sponsored Work Permits for 20 international contractors.
However the UAE Labour Ministry changed the regulations around Work Permit sponsorship. This specifically prevented recruitment agencies from sponsoring Work Permits. The Ministry issued a deadline – the contractors had 3 weeks to leave the country or find another sponsor.
They needed a local company that could sponsor these candidates on local UAE Work Permits, second them to their end client and payroll them locally. The solution needed to be fully compliant with local employment, taxation and immigration regulations.
The Client required a UAE company with the capacity to rapidly sponsor international contractors on local Work Permits, provide Business Visas where required, employ and pay-roll the contractors and handle issues with local currency. Their initial dealings in the UAE in setting up their local incorporation had been difficult due to the different business culture. So it was particularly important they dealt with a company they could trust and communicate easily with.
The Client contacted Contractor Taxation Ltd and worked with our local UAE partner to provide a solution, quote and timeframe to the Client. This was supplied within 24 hours and included a step by step process that would be undertaken to ensure all of the client’s contractors could be transitioned in less than 3 weeks whilst staying within their budget. Crucially, none of the contractors would need to leave the project or UAE during this process.
Once the Client had given preliminary approval to the proposal our local partner and Contractor Taxation had a detailed conference call to ensure they understood the process and agreed to proceed. The Client worked with Contractor Taxation Ltd and our partner to agree a specific contract template which ensures the candidates are bound by the necessary contractual terms, mirroring the very specific clauses required by the End Client.
The local partner now has all 20 contractors sponsored and working on their payroll. For the End Client the transfer process was seamless without any lost work days, changes to the Master Agreements or changes to billing process.
The Client was able to continue their lucrative project in UAE and meet all expectations of their end client. They have now outsourced all responsibility for immigration, local employment and payroll to our local partner which has made administration of their local incorporation significantly easier. They are running new placements through the local partner and winning more projects with the End Client around the world.
